WEETONAS LAFAWN WINS GRADE 3 ARC PRAIRIE MEADOWS DISTAFF CHALLENGE

ALTOONA, IA—SEPTEMBER 14, 2019—In a powerful effort under jockey Juan Pulido, Weetonas Lafawn got her fourth career stakes win on Saturday when she defeated Fosse by a neck in the $30,014 ARC Prairie Meadows Distaff Challenge(G3). Post-time favorite Painted Dynasty finished 1-˝ lengths back in third.

Saddled by trainer Clinton Crawford, Weetonas Lafawn covered the 400 yards in :20.109 seconds, into a 15 mph headwind, on a muddy (sealed) racetrack, to pick up the $14,707 winner's purse.

Racing for owner Cavenaugh Quarter Horses, LLC, the daughter of champion sire Valiant Hero has compiled a (17) 7-0-4 record and banked $158,200. Bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley, from the Mr Jess Perry mare First Prize Fancy,

Weetonas Lawfawn has also won the Remington Park Juvenile, Mr Master Bug Stakes and the Jack Brooks Stakes at Remington Park. She was third in the ARC Canterbury Park Distaff Challenge in her last start, July 7.

Today's win also earns the bay filly a starting spot in the $125,000-est. ARC Distaff Challenge Championship(G1) at The Downs at Albuquerque. The race is part of the Bank of America Challenge Championships on October 26th. Runner-up Fosse, a California-bred daughter of champion sire Foose, races for owner Mitch Milliron and is trained by R. Allen Hybsha. Nik Goodwin had the riding call aboard the gray filly from the Check Him Out mare Check N Fetch. She earned $6,303 for the effort. Paul C. Jones is the breeder.

Third-place finisher Painted Dynasty races for Thomas Scheckel and is conditioned by Jason Olmstead. Justin Shepherd was aboard the FDD Dynasty 4-year-old out of Tygers Painted Girl by Pyc Paint Your Wagon. Michael C. Teel bred the multiple graded-placed filly in Oklahoma. She picked up $3,151 to boost her earnings total to $135,235.

Pretty And Big, Our Lady Wagon, Ima Dashin Follie and Another Overdraft completed the field.
