KATCH THIS BIRD SECOND IN $100,000 RAINBOW QUARTER HORSE INVITATIONAL

© Jake Rogers / Ruidoso DownsRUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 18, 2020— Katch This Bird, a 3-year-old Weetona Stanley Oklahoma-bred just missed by a neck off Love Is Everything V to finish second in the $100,000 Rainbow Quarter Horse Invitational Saturday at Ruidoso Downs.
Ridden by jockey Raul Valenzuela, Katch This Bird earned $18,000 for finishing second. The Rainbow Quarter Horse Invitational is a preferred race for the non-qualifiers from the recent $700,000 Rainbow Derby(G1) trials.
Trainer John Stinebaugh conditions the son of One Famous Eagle for owner Louis Howard. Out of the Oak Tree Special mare First Prize Joy, Katch This Bird has compiled an (11) 3-2-0 record and banked $85,965.
Howard purchased the sorrel gelding at the 2018 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale for $27,000.
