WEETONA STANLEY BREEDS 2022 $3 MILLION ALL AMERICAN FUTURITY(G1) FINALIST
Jp General (#8) gets up over Orbyson (#6) in trial 6 today at Ruidoso Downs Race Track.
© Bailey Ivey / Ruidoso DownsRUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—AUGUST 20, 2022–Jp General defeated Orbyson by a head in the sixth trial race Saturday, qualifying with the fourth fastest time of day for the $3 million All American Futurity at Ruidoso Downs Race Track to be run on Labor Day, September 5.
Jp General completed the 440 yards in :21.801 seconds into an 11-mph headwind. The $60,000 Ruidoso Select Sale Yearling, sold under the name First Prize Revenant, races for owners Shaun Hubbard, Scott Bryant, Bill Fenn and Ray Willis.
Trainer Christopher O’Dell named jockey Eduardo Nicasio to ride the A Revenant gelding out of First Prize Shaunda by Pyc Paint Your Wagon. It was the first win four starts for Jp General who was a finalist in the Rainbow Juvenile Invitational in his last start. Weetona Stanley is the breeder.
Today’s five qualifiers will join Jes An Angel, Sicario V, Hes Judgeandjury, Paige and Kj Leader Of the Pack in $3,000,000 All American Futurity final on Monday, September 5.
