Jockey Victor Urieta, Jr. hustled the 5-year-old son of leading sire One Famous Eagle to a neck win while completing the 440 yards in 21.640 seconds, a 105-speed index into a 5 mph crosswind. "He made a few errors at the start but came through at the end," jockey Urieta said after the ride. Trainer Juan Diaz, Jr. saddled the Texas-bred gelding for owner Adrian Aleman. It was the seventh career win in 16 starts, and A Famous Ribbon used the $45,000 Classic winners' purse to boost his bankroll to $173,202. Weetona Stanley bred A Famous Ribbon from the Corona Cartel mare Fast Prize Ribbon. "We saw how well he ran at Remington Park," said Diaz."Victor had ridden him twice last year and he did not disappoint." Graded stakes-placed Dm Moonpie earned $15,000 for his second-place effort. Kie Mushinski trains the 5-year-old Moonin The Eagle gelding for owner-breeder Donna Mushinski. Luis Vivanco had the riding call on the Texas-bred out of Dm Bella Mia by Prime Talent. Dm Moonpie has banked $117,724 in 26 career starts. Another neck back, Shakers No Secret ridden by jockey Christian Ramos, earned $8,250 for third. Trainer Marc E. Jungers sent out the Grade 3 stakes-winning son of multiple stakes sire Five Bar Cartel for owners Abel Lopez, Ethan Lopez, and Manny Dutchover. Garlyn O. Shelton bred the $254,218 earner from the No Secrets Here mare Shaker Secret. Completing the field were Hes A Jet One, Jess The Leader, Dm Preacher Man and post-time favorite San Lorenzo Jet who finished last.
