TQHA FUTURITY WINNER SPIT CURL JESSE QUALIFIES TO GCFA FUTURITY TRIAL TIME Date Posted: 8/12/2012 11:29:40 PM Spit Curl Jesse, show winning the TQHA Futurity, returned on Sunday toqualify for the Grade 3 GCFA Futurity. Vasquez' Spit Curl Jesse drew off well to set the third fastest time for the $120,400 Grade 3 GCFA Futurity during seven trials contested on Sunday at the Gillespie County Fairground.
The 10 fastest 2-year-olds will return to the South Texas raceway on Sunday, August 26, and vie for the winner's purse in the 350 yard futurity. Coming off a win in the July 1 $37,300 TQHA Futurity at Gillespie, Spit Curl Jesse was impressive Sunday afternoon under jockey Thomas Ramirez. The Candelario Montes, Jr. trainee one the race by one-length and posted the a time of :17.695 seconds. Juan M. Escalante bred the SPIT CURL JESS gelding in Texas from the First Down Laveaux mare Linda Laveaux. Spit Curl Jesse has two wins and one third in three starts this season and has earned $14,245.
