OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 19, 2014—Another Weetona Stanley bred two-year-old posted the second fastest time from 68 two-year-olds who participated in nine schooling races today (Wednesday) at Remington Park.

This year's freshman crop in Oklahoma are preparing for the upcoming $750,000-est. Remington Park OK-Bred Futurity trials April 5 and the $1 million-est. Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity trials on May 31.

First Prize Diver, a $50,000 Heritage Place September yearling, produced a steady run down the middle of the racetrack to win by half-a-length for trainer Eddie D. Willis. The bay colt stopped the clock in :13.36 seconds, equal to an 82 speed index with a 14 mph tailwind.

Racing for Ed Melzer and James Sills, the Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt is from the first crop out of First Prize Pearl, an unraced sister to Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner First Prize Leesa, Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner First Carolina, Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner First Prize Robin and Texas Classic Futurity(G1) runner-up First Prize Perry.

Willis also saddled $230,000 Ruidoso Sale graduate Preslee The First to victory in the 9th race. The Corona Cartel filly broke a step behind but moved up quickly to challenge on the front end. She finished gamely for a nose win in :13.62 seconds. McColee Land and Livestock purchased the full sister (whose name was Ms Weetona Lafawn at the time) to 2013 Rainbow Futurity(G1) winner Ms First Prize Rose and 2013 Remington Park OK-Bred Futurity winner Coronado Cartel from her breeder Weetona Stanley. Her dam is the aforementioned Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner First Carolina.
