WIND FORCES JESS PRIZE ME INTO RUIDOSO JUVENILE Date Posted: 5/29/2016 2:16:02 AM Jess Prize Me, under jockey Jesse Levario, easily winning the fourth trial on Saturday to the Ruidoso Futurity(G1). © Gay Harris / Ruidoso DownsRUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—MAY 28, 2016—West Texas Futurity(G2) runner-up Jess Prize Me posted a one length win in the fourth race on day 2 of the Grade 1, $1 million Ruidoso Futurity trails at Ruidoso Downs Saturday.
The first three trials on Saturday enjoyed a tail-wind with half the top ten times coming out of those three races. When Jess Prize Me went to the gate she completed the 350 yard task in :17.878 seconds into a stiff headwind. At the end of the day the brown filly had posted the 9th fastest clocking from 133 head of 2-year-olds who participated in 15 trial races. The horses with the second five-fastest times today (Saturday) will meet the horses with the second five-fastest times from Friday’s trials in the $100,000-Guaranteed Ruidoso Juvenile Invitational on June 12. Jesse Levario had the riding call aboard the Mr Jess Perry filly out of stakes-placed Fast Prize Tracy ($40,960), by Shazoom. On Friday Fast Prize Tracy's 2-year-old by Apolltical Jess won his trial and qualified for the $1 million Grade 1 Ruidoso Futurity final (see related story). Fast Prize Tracy is a sister to world record holder and Grade 1 West Texas Futurity winner Fast Prize Zoom ($192,875) and she is the dam of Cherokee Nation Stakes winner Spit Curl Trey ($51,660), etc. Trainer Chris Zamora conditions Jess Prize Me for owner LMG Racing, Inc. She has compiled a (4) 1-3-0 record and earned $47,514 this season. Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith bred both of the 2-year-olds in Oklahoma.
