Jr Highway 93 finished a nose back to take third.
Under jockey Jesus Canales, The Prize Ferarri completed the 400 yards in :19.870 seconds, a 98 speed index into a 6 mph crosswind. It with eighth win in 12 career starts for the son of champion sire The Louisiana Cartel. The $10,520 winners' purse boosted his bankroll to $82,684. Trainer Mark Hanson saddled the brown gelding to his third consecutive win for owners RTM Stables, Robin Dunn, Kevin Dunn and Bryon Goody. Bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley, from the Mr Jess Perry mare Ferarri Fast Prize, The Prize Ferarri won the Adequan Pocatello Down Derby Challenge two races back and the John Deere Pocatello Downs Juvenile Challenge last year. Jay Pitcher saddled runner-up Fortunes Wild Blood for owners Kelly and Kyle Cook. Riley Blanchet bred the stakes winning son of leading third-crop sire Apollitical Blood in Louisiana from the Carters Cartel mare Cartels Fortune. Ridden by Nakia Ramirez, Fortunes Wild Blood earned $5,260 for the effort. He has banked $41,320 off a (16) 5-2-3 record. Third-place finisher Jr Hiway 93 earned $2,630 for owner-trainer Own Udy. J R Stables bred the son of One Fabulous Eagle in Nevada from the Panther Mountain mare Prissy B Panther. Jockey Gerardo Vera had the riding assignment. Rtm Glory Days, Coronado Kiss, Imported Corona, Heza Gator, Im Renee, One Corona Special and Primal Instincts completed the field. |
