First Prize Kate, a two-year-old filly by Fly Jess Fly, won an $11,000 maiden outing at Blue Ribbon Downs on Saturday afternoon for owner Michael Pohl. The sorrel filly covered the 300 yards in :15.613 seconds to earn a 91 speed index. She became the 18th winner from 22 starters for First Prize Dash. On Saturday night, First Prize Boston won a $5,000 maiden race at Lone Star Park by ¾ in :13.247. The 3-year-old by Mr Jess Perry earned a 97 speed index and became the 19th winning offspring of First Prize Dash. The sorrel colt races for his breeder Weetona Stanley and William E. Smith.
