CORONAS FIRST PRIZE BREAKS MAIDEN IN FIRST START Date Posted: 3/7/2010 10:51:28 PM Coronas First Prize winning her Harrah's Entertainment Futurity trial at Louisiana Downs., Lou Hodges, Jr. PhotoBOOSIER CITY, LA--MARCH 7, 2010--Coronas First Prize, a two-year-old Corona Cartel filly out of the Lady Bug Stallion Station grade 1 winner and producer Fast First Prize broke her maiden in her first start on Saturday.
Owned by Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith, the bay filly scored a 1 3/4 length victory in the $235,000 Harrah's Entertainment Futurity trials. She ended up the 11th fastest qualifiers from 82 starters in nine trial races. Heath Taylor trains the filly with Jarrod Deschamp getting the riding call. Coronas First Prize is a half-sister to world record holder and grade 1 winner Fast Prize Zoom, winner of the West Texas Futurity(G1). |
