Dustin Orona PhotographyOKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 2, 2010—A new Remington Park and World Record was established as well Saturday in the night’s eighth race as Jess Jones won a 660-yard optional claiming event with ease, crossing the finish in 32.373. The time shaved .117 seconds off the former 660-yard mark of 32.49, set in 2007 by Thats The Man who was the runner-up to Jess Jones in Saturday’s eighth race. Jess Jones is owned by J.D. Anderson of Froid, Mont. and is trained by Monty Brooks of Blanchard, Okla. Jockey Cody Jensen was aboard for the record-breaking ride as the son of Mr Jess Perry was well within himself over the final 100 yards, never asked by his pilot, while cruising home with powerful strides. Bred by Fred Stanley of Lady Bug Stallion Station, Jess Jones is out of the Disco Jerry (TB) mare Disco Del Rey. |
