WANNA TREET ME POSTS THIRD FASTEST MARK IN $100,000 BLACK GOLD FUTURITY TRIALS Date Posted: 7/1/2010 1:24:06 AM Disco Two Chew (#1) holds off The American Corona (#5) and Wanna Treet Me (#2) in the final Black Gold trial race. Smith's Wanna Treet Me raced to the third fastest qualifying mark in the $100,000-Guaranteed Black Gold Futurity-Division 1 trials on Wednesday evening at Fair Meadows in Tulsa.
The ten fastest qualifiers, from 92 two-year-olds sired by participating stallions, will return on July 18th to contest the 300 yard final. The top ten-qualifiers to each division of the Black Gold will advance to the trials for the $300,000-Guaranteed Black Gold Championship Futurity later this year. Disco Two Chew held off American Corona and Wanna Treet Meby a nose and neck in the last of 10 trial races as she earned a 107 speed index and set the top qualifying mark. William E. Smith's Wanna Treet Me, who was bred by Lady Bug Stallion Station's Weetona Stanley, posted a :15.310 time, three lengths ahead of the field, to earn a 105 speed index. The Oak Tree Special filly is out of Lady Bug Stallion Station broodmare Wanna Be Me, by Disco Jerry (TB). The gray filly is trained by Stacey Capps and ridden by Adalberto Candanosa. Disco Jerry, a foundation stallion of Lady Bug Stallion Station, was the broodmare sire of three qualifiers including Disco Two Chew (1st by Royal Blue Chew Chew), Wanna Treet Me (3rd by Oak Tree Special) and Beauty Chew (6th also by Royal Blue Chew Chew).
