Two of the top five times came from a pair of PYC Paint Your Wagon two-year-olds bred by Weetona Stanley and Fred Stanley of Lady Bug Stallion Station. The Remington Park Futurity, contested for the first time only for eligible Oklahoma-breds, will be the richest state-bred futurity in the nation. The April 16 final for the top qualifiers will be worth $780,000. Jeffrey Heath Reed saddled Fast Prize Jordan to victory in the third trial over Folly Del Rey. Owned by Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith of Madill, Oklahoma, the brown colt out of the Fast Prize Doll, by Mr Jess Perry stopped the timer at :16.860 for the second fastest time. He was the ridden by G.R. Carter. Folly Del Rey, bred by Fred Stanley of Madill, Oklahoma and owned by Sandy and Randy Coleman, finished with the fourth time of :16.933. Trey Wood trains the PYC Paint Your Wagon colt out of Disco Del Rey, by Disco Jerry-TB. The Coleman's purchased Folly Del Rey for $22,000 at the September Heritage Place Yearling Sale. Joining Fast Prize Jordan and Folly Del Ray in the Remington Park Futurity finals from Saturday’s trials will be: Mighty B Valiant :16.699; Cash for Wagon Boss, :16.914; and BPs Jumpin Frisco, :16.945. A dozen more Remington Park Futurity trials will be contested on Sunday afternoon with the five fastest from those events joining the Saturday qualifiers in the lucrative April 16 final.
