The sale concluded it's three-day run Saturday (September 18) with a 13% increase in average over last year's sale. "We are pleased with the outcome of this year’s sale," Heritage Place General Manger Jeff Tebow said following the final session. "We believe the consignors deserve the credit for our success. Our catalog was definitely stronger in depth than it has been for many years and our results verify it. We also want to thank our buyers. They should feel confident they have good values in the horses they purchased." First Prize Moon, a full brother to grade 1 winners First Prize Leesa, First Carolina, First Prize Robin and grade 1-placed First Prize Perry, was the top seller at $435,000. Rodrigo Norzagaray Espinoza purchased the Mr Jess Perry colt out of First Prize Dash, by Dash For Cash, from Marty Powers, Agent for Weetona Stanley in the first session. Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash is the all-time leading dam of ROM with 23 from 27 starters and she is a full sister to all-time leading Quarter Horse sire First Down Dash. She has produced two Remington Park Futurity(G1) winners, two Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winners and is the granddam of 2011 All American Futurity(G1) finalists and Rainbow Juvenile Invitational winner Denver Pass. First Prize Dash is the only mare to have both a high-seller at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale and the Heritage Place Yearling Sale. First Prize Stanley, also by Mr Jess Perry, sold for $675,000 at the 2008 Ruidoso Sale. The average for the entire sale excluding repurchases increased 13% to $12,656 from $11,199 in 2010. Gross sales excluding repurchases for this year’s sale increased 9% from 2010. Total transactions equaled $11,999,650. Repurchases accounted for 17.5% of the 906 horses offered.
