Smith and trained by Heath Taylor, was the third fastest qualifier among 124 starters in the Texas Classic Futurity Trials at Lone Star Park Saturday night.
The Grade 1, $1,252,909 Texas Classic Futurity, the richest annual horse race in Texas, will be run Saturday, November 12, closing night of Lone Star Park’s 2011 Fall Meeting of Champions for Quarter Horses. With G.R. Carter, Jr. aboard, Fast Prize Jordan dashed 400 yards in 19.330 seconds over a fast track, earning a 104 speed index. The fastest qualifier in this year's grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity and and Remington Park Futurity was an impressive 2 ½ length winner in the 11th trial. Bred by Weetona Stanley, the Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt out of the Lady Bug Stallion Station's Fast Prize Doll by Mr Jess Perry, recorded at :19.330 for the third fastest time. The Corona Cartel colt is out the Lady Bug Stallion Station grade 1 winning mare First Carolina by Mr Jess Perry. Folly Del Rey, a Pyc Paint Your Wagon filly bred by Fred Stanley from the Lady Bug Stallion Station mare Disco Del Rey posted the 16th fastest time after winning the eighth trial. She was runner-up in the $700,000 Remington Park Futurity in April. |
