OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—JANUARY 18, 2012— The 2010 champion aged horse and champion aged mare Spit Curl Diva returned in 2011 to capture her third champion title, as the champion aged mare. The championship committee gave the mare the nod for a bold season conducted at an age when many breeding horses are long since retired.

After having three embryos pulled early in the year, the 6-year-old mare, owned by the Lepic-Morgan Partnership, won three of seven races and earned $118,415. The well-traveled mare competed at four tracks in four states, and won the Bank of America Prairie Meadows Championship Challenge (G2), Keokuk Stakes (G3) and Golden Driller Stakes, and was second in the Indiana Downs Classic, Fair Meadows Belles Stakes and was fifth in the Bank of America Challenge Championship (G1).

In her career, the tough mare has won 19 of 37 starts and earned $829,353. She was trained in 2011 by Jody Brown and Paul Jones, and ridden by David Brown. Spit Curl Diva was bred in Oklahoma by Little Deer Creek Quarter Horses, and is by SPIT CURL JESS and out of the Some Dasher mare Some Kinda Diva.

According to Lepic Spit Curl Diva has been retired to the broodmare band.
