Owned by Virgil and Teresa Sitsler of Locust Grove, Okla. and trained by Jackie Kirby, Fast Prize Perry was ridden to a 1-1/2 length triumph by Albert Medrano. The 4-year-old gelding made his first start of 2013 a winning one, adding to his pair of third-place finishes in Oklahoma City a year ago, running his local record to three-for-three in the money. Fast Prize Perry took the lead midway through the 300-yard race, then pulled clear with authority to win in :15.345 seconds over a fast track. Secret Royal Runaway held second by a nose over Public Enemies. Away at 3-1 odds in the wagering, Fast Prize Perry paid $8.80 to win, $5.60 to place and $3.20 to show. Secret Royal Runaway paid $8.40 to place and $4 to show. Public Enemies returned $3.80 to show. Im A Rare Gambler was the beaten 2-1 betting favorite, finishing fourth. An Oklahoma-bred by Mr Jess Perry from the Heza Fast Man mare Fast First Prize, Fast Prize Perry earned $11,820 for his second career score in six attempts. Bred by Weetona Stanley, his overall bankroll now stands at $24,333. |
