FIRST PRIZE SHAUNDA CROWNED CHAMPION OLDER FEMALE AT REMINGTON PARK MEET Date Posted: 6/12/2014 8:15:07 PM First Prize Shaunda is named Remington Park's Champion Older Female © Coady PhotographyOKLAHOMA CITY, OK—JUNE 12, 2014— The super talented First Prize Shaunda, a lightning-quick daughter of Pyc Paint Your Wagon, has been voted Older Female Horse of the Meet, by media and track officials for the 2014 Remington Park American Quarter Horse & Mixed-breed Season.
Owned by Weetona Stanley of Madill, Okla. and trained by Stacey Capps, First Prize Shaunda won the Grade 3 Decketta Stakes and an allowance race in March. Ridden to victory by Ricky Ramirez and Cody Jenson, the 4-year-old mare was bred in Oklahoma by Ms Stanley and W.E. Smith. First Prize Shaunda is out of the Remington Park Futurity winner First Prize Leesa ($488,270), by Mr Jess Perry. The Oklahoma-bred miss is (11) 6-0-1 and has earned $133,232. The brown filly is expected to join the elite Lady Bug Stallion Station broodmare band in 2015. |
