BOISE, ID–AUGUST 9, 2014—Bouncing off a second-place effort in the trials, Jess Curl My Prize raced to her sixth win in seven starts and earned her third stakes victory this season following a nose win over James First Affair in the $48,056 John Deere Les Bois Juvenile Challenge on Saturday. Steinway Ivory was another nose back in the show position.

The filly also garnered a starting spot in the $150,000 Guaranteed John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship(G2) on Saturday, October 18 at Prairie Meadows.

Regular rider Nikeela Black got Jess Curl My Prize up in the final jump while competing the 350 yards in a quick :17.234 seconds. The race was so close that the top three finishers were each awarded a 104 speed index for the effort.

Sandy and Denny Weigt's Jess Curl My Prize picked up $22,107 for the victory and pushed her earnings mark to nearly $106,000 on the season. Leading trainer Monty Arrossa saddled the Weetona Stanley Oklahoma-bred daughter of Spit Curl Jess from the Oak Tree Special mare First Prize Joy.

The Weigt's purchased the brown filly at the September Heritage Place Yearling Sale for $20,500. She won the Bitterroot Futurity and the Knight Transportation Futurity earlier this season at Les Bois Park.

James And Company, Bigtime Carter, As Needed, Hiko Hellion, Zoomin For Kash, Minya and Dee Zired completed the field.
