First Prize Corina broke sharp for Willis in the Race 13 fighting hard on the front-end with Tytanic before gaining the advantage by a nose while covering the 250 yards in :13.67 seconds. Jim Thorstanson purchased the Spit Curl Jess filly privately from Weetona Stanley. She is out of the Corona Cartel mare First Prize Corona. Willis, who saddled four winners on Friday's schooling card, also trains Wishbone Prize who broke clean in Race 4 took the advantage then pulled clear by three-lengths. Wishbone Prize, a $33,000 Ivory James colt from the 6666 Ranch, Agent for Wetona Stanley consignment at Ruidoso Select Yearling sale, is out of the multiple stakes producing Mr Jess Perry mare Fast Prize Doll. The 2015 Remington Park Quarter Horse & Mixed Breed season opens on Friday, March 6 and runs through Saturday, May 30. Post times for the Opening Weekend of the season are 6pm on Friday, March 6; 5pm on Saturday, March 7; and 1:30pm on Sunday, March 8. |
