SPIT CURL DAISY EASY WINNER IN LUCKY LOSER STAKES

© Coady PhotographyHIALEAH, FL—MARCH 1, 2015—Spit Curl Daisy, owned-and-trained by Jesus Gonzalez, Jr., broke sharp and cleared the field early under jockey Raul Gutierrez to win the $23,000 Lucky Loser Stakes by one-length over Hes Too Icy For Me. Victorious Shake Em finished three-quarters back in third.
A 4-year-old daughter of leading sire Spit Curl Jess, Spit Curl Daisy, completed the 300 yards in a quick :15.303 seconds to earn a 99 speed index. The $13,800 winner's purse boosted career total $5,488 with a (10) 4-1-1 record. Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith bred Spit Curl Daisy from the Corona Cartel mare First Prize Corona.
Hes Too Icy For Me, winner of the 2010 Rainbow Futurity(G1), earned $13,500 for owner/trainer Ricardo Martinez. The son of all-time leading sire First Down Dash earned $4,600 to boost his career total to $388,652. Vessels Stallion Farm, LLC and D M Cattle Co bred the 7-year-old in California. Manuel Gutierrez was riding.
Victorious Shake Em races for owner Ignacio Garduno Soto and trainer Adrian Soto. Bred in Texas by RMV Family Limited Partnership, the 6-year-old was ridden by Dale Beaty. Victorious Shake Em earned $2,530 for his effort.
