FIRST PRIZE CORINA TOP QUALIFIER TO $100,000 REMINGTON PARK JUVENILE Date Posted: 4/4/2015 11:29:23 AM First Prize Corina posted the fastest time for the Remington Park Juvenile Invitational. © Dustin Orona PhotographyOKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 3, 2014—First Prize Coronia SI 91, a two-year-old Spit Curl Jess filly from the Corona Cartel mare First Prize Corona just missed making the $827,000 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity(RG3) during the first night of trials in Oklahoma City Friday.
Making only her second start the gritty filly finished second to fastest qualifier A Tres Of Paint in the fifth of 11 trials. Her time of :16.744 seconds held on the "bubble" through five races until the final heat when she was knocked out resulting in her being the fastest qualifier for the $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile Invitational to be run back on April 19. Conditioned by Kasey Willis, the black filly is 0-1-1 in two starts with earnings of $4,006. Cesar Gomez had the riding assignment in the Remington Park trials. First Prize Corina is a full sister to 2015 Lucky Loser stakes winner Spit Curl Daisy SI 101, a 4 time winner to 4, 2015 with earnings of $55,488; Oklahoma Futurity(G2) finalist Sassy Spit Curl SI 97 ($39,581); and 2014 Ruidoso Juvenile finalist Blue Gene Harley SI 101 ($37,704), etc. The second dam is former Broodmare of the Year and multiple grade 1 producer First Prize Dash, a sister to all-time leading sire FIRST DOWN DASH. She was bred by Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith. |
