FAST N FANCY WINS GRADE 3 SPEEDHORSE QUARTER HORSE FUTURITY Date Posted: 7/29/2015 4:52:54 PM Fast N Fancy, under jockey Larry Payne, catches Miss Sammy May to win the 2015 Speedhorse Quarter Horse Futurity at Fair Meadows Race Course © Coady PhotographyTULSA, OK—JULY 25, 2015—Fast N Fancy surged at the wire to take the lead from Miss Sammy May in the $184,560 Grade 3 Speedhorse Quarter Horse Futurity(G3) Saturday night at Fair Meadows Race Course. Vf Floosie finished half-a-length back in the show position.
Ridden by jockey Larry Payne, Fast N Fancy completed the 350 yards in :17.763 seconds into a 7 mph headwind. It was the first career win in four starts for the daughter Pyc Paint Your Wagon out of First Prize Fancy, by Mr Jess Perry. She is a full sister to last year's Remington Park Futurity(RG3) winner Im A Fancy Pyc. Sam Howard conditions the brown filly that picked up $70,133 for owner Butch Parsons. Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith is the breeder. Fast N Fancy entered the trials off second place effort by a head to fastest qualifier Vf Floosie. Brandon Reed saddled Miss Sammy May, a daughter of first crop sire Freighttrain B for owner Curtis Smith. Wesley Ann Anglin bred the gray filly in Oklahoma from the Beet The Feet (TB) mare Miss Sound Dancer. With a (5) 2-2-0 record, Miss Sammy May picked up $31,375 to double her earnings total to $64,011. Fastest qualifier Vf Floosie bumped early but rallied under jockey G.R. Carter, Jr. to pickup the third place check of $20,302. Brian Muse saddled the homebred daughter of leading sire Foose from the The Harder They Fall mare Wheely Quick. She has earned $57,379. A Bee C, a stablemate of Vf Floosie, owned by Victory Farms and trained by Muse, finished a neck back in fourth. Jim and Marilyn Helzer bred the Apollitical Jess gelding from Hollywood Caliente. Bloomer Ride, Fast Ferdinand, Spit Like A Pit, Satcha Wagoneer, Prissy Cartel and Reason For Roses completed the field. |
