STANLEY-BRED COLT POSTS THIRD FASTEST TIME IN SCHOOLING RACES AT REMINGTON PARK Date Posted: 3/2/2016 5:52:39 PM Spit Curl Corona is a half-brother to 2015 Grade 1 winner Cr Tuckernuck (above). © Dustin Orona PhotographyOKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 2, 2016—Spit Curl Corona, a $15,000 Heritage Place September Yearling Sale graduate posted the third fastest time from 61 two-year-olds who participated in nine schooling races on Tuesday at Remington Park.
Spit Prize Corona moved up in a rally to get to the leader in the final race (10) for owner/trainer Mat Eck. The Spit Curl Jess colt caught Tres Of Grace in the final strides for a head win and the third fastest clocking of :13.74 into a 26 mph headwind. The bay colt is a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Cr Tuckernuck, Speedhorse Futurity(G2) winner Spit Like Jagger and a brother to Rainbow Juvenile third place finisher Chasin Mojo. Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith bred Spit Prize Corona from the Corona Cartel mare Fast Prize Corona. The second dam is Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner Fast First Prize.
