The winning 3-year-old filly went :11.47 seconds for her first official workout of the year this morning at Remington Park in preparation of the upcoming racing season. Owned by Gary Harstack and trained by Leon Bard the bay filly posted the top work from 28 head that went that distance on Wednesday morning. In comparison, Jess Good Candy, the 2015 All American Futurity winner and champion 2-year-old colt last year, got the second fastest time of :11.59 seconds Wednesday morning. First Prize Diamonds posted a (5) 1-0-1 record as a two-year-old when she closed out her campaign with a one-length win at Lone Star Park while completing 330 yards in :15.963 seconds, a 90 speed index. Her two off-the-board performances were in trials at Ruidoso Downs last summer. Weetona Stanley bred First Prize Diamonds in Oklahoma. First Prize Diamonds is the dam of 2015 LQHBA Laddie Futurity(RG2) winner First Prize Denim ($158,041), LQHBA Breeders' Futurity(RG1) runner-up First Prize Jet ($251,758 at 2), and Diamond Prize ($37,381, finalist Dash For Cash Derby(G2), etc. The second dam is former Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash, by Dash For Cash. |
