Coronas Prize Dolly posted an impressive 1 ˝ length victory in her first career start on Friday at Delta Downs. Saddle by leading trainer Kenny Roberts, the Corona Leaving You filly set the 9th fastest time after 14 trials for the $298,012 Louisiana Lassie Futurity(RG2). David Alvarez rode the filly out of Fast Prize Dolly, by Shazoom, for the partnership of Jason Richard, Michael Leblanc and Tami Burkland. The trip purchased Coronas Prize Dolly for $38,000 at last summer's LQHBA Yearling Sale in Kinder, Louisiana. Weetona Stanley is the breeder. Finals for the Louisiana Lassie Futurity will be contested on Friday, May 20th. On Saturday night First Prize Bourban broke his maiden in his first career start when he posted a three-quarter length victor in the 11th trial for the RG2 $281,007 Louisiana Laddie Futurity at Delta Downs. Donald Watson had the riding call. Also trained by Kenny Roberts, the Coronas Leaving You colt is from the Mr Jess Perry mare First Prize Pearl. Owner Charles Bourdreaux paid $45,000 for the Weetona Stanley-bred colt at the LQHBA Yearling Sale last August. Finals for the Louisiana Laddie Futurity will be contested on Saturday, May 21st. |
