The daughter of champion Desirio, out of the Mr Jess Perry mare First Prize Fancy, broke sharp under jockey Ivan Carnero to win the 300 yard event by half-a-length. Conditioned by All American Futurity winning trainer Clinton Crawford, she recorded a :16.952 clocking. Weetona Stanley is the owner/breeder of the filly. Fancy First Prize is the fourth 2-year-old winner for Desirio at the 2016 Remington Park Quarter Horse meet. Im A Fancy Pyc won five of six career starts at 2 and earned $454,765. He was also the fastest qualifier to the 2014 $2.4 million All American Futurity(G1). He suffered a career ending injury in that race. The only loss for the son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon was an off-the-board performance following a troubled start in the $1.1. million Heritage Place Futurity(G1). A sister to Grade 1 winners First Prize Leesa, First Carolina and First Prize Robin, First Prize Fancy is also the dam of 2015 Grade 3 Speedhorse Futurity winner Fast N Fancy (2 wins at 2, $88,379), South Florida Derby runner-up Pyc First Prize Fany ($92,303) and 2015 Firecracker Futurity(G2) runner-up First Fancy Prize (3 wins at 2, $76,157). |
