BARUE WINS RG3 EASY JET STAKES

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—JUNE 4, 2016—Barue a 2-year-old brother to Grade 3 winner First Prize Leesa won the $50,000 Easy Jet Stakes (RG3) at Remington Park Saturday night.

Racing for Albert and Sandra Whitmire, the son of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon, completed the 350 yards in :17.459 seconds, a 90 speed index. Ridden by jockey James Flores, Barue was bumped earlier but drove to a neck win over High Speed Kitty.

Jerry Ingles saddled the Oklahoma-bred to his second win in five starts. The $30,000 winner's purse boosted his record to (6) 2-2-0 with $62,194 banked.

Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith bred Barue in Oklahoma from the Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner First Prize Leesa ($488,270). She is the dam of 7 ROM including Deceketta Stakes(G3) winner First Prize Shaunda SI 105 ($144,982) and Ruidoso Juvenile Challenge(G3) runner-up Leesa Gone Wild SI 97 ($48,968), etc.

Making just her second career start, High Speed Kitty picked up $10,000 for her effort. A homebred for owner/breeder Richard Joneson, trainer Clinton Crawford conditions the daughter of first crop sire High Rate Of Return from the Takin On The Cash mare Kitty D Ville. Jose Montoya was up.

Tana Caldwell saddled Feral to his third place effort for owners Blaine Brown and Robbin Caldwell. David Brown was aboard the Favorite Cartel colt from the The Corona mare Mt Rob This Corona. He picked up $5,500 for the effort.

Jc Wild Rose, Kates Carter, One Corona, Peves Freddy B and Cc Passion completed the field.
