Run The Dash, 2007 Broodmare of the Year, and First Prize Dash, 2006 Broodmare of the Year, are both granddaughters of the Lady Bug's Moon mare Rose Bug. Run The Dash, out of Rose Bug's Dash For Cash daughter Dashin Rosie, is the dam of 2007 World Champion and the breeds all-time leading money earning female Blues Girl Too. The Corona Cartel filly has earned $2,032,328 while winning the Champion of Champions(G1), Los Alamitos 2 Million Futurity(G1), Golden State Derby(G1) and Mildred N. Vessels Handicap(G1). She is also the dam of stakes winner Eyell Fool Ya and stakes-placed The Blues Girl and The Blue s Man. In 2006, First Prize Dash, out Rose Bug's Gallant Jet daughter First Prize Rose, produced two grade 1 winning two-year-olds and another grade 1 stakes-placed two-year-old in one season. She is the dam of First Carolina ($404,775, Heritage Place Futurity(G1)), First Prize Robin ($295,147, Remington Park Futurity(G1)), Fast First Prize ($244,929, Heritage Place Futurity(G1)), Heza Fast Dash ($136,123, Blue Ribbon Futurity-G2)) and First Prize Perry ($243,946, 2nd Texas Classic Futurity(G1)). First Prize Dash is also a full sister to the breeds All Time Leading Sire of Money Earners, First Down Dash. Rose Bug was a 1971 mare who won six races and $57,398 including the first consolation to the All American Derby. She was a half-sister to stakes winners Lady Afton and Casco Charge (also a Champion producer). Rose Bug produced eight ROM from nine foals to race. The only other female "Broodmares of the Year" from the same line are Corona Chick in 1997 and her dam Sizzling Lil in 2001. |
