Bred in Oklahoma by Michael Pohl, Jess Paint Your Lips races for Pohl and Leann Burns. She is out of the Corona Cartel mare Paint Your Lips, a sister to leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon. Third in the RG3 Remington Park Oklahoma-bred Derby two races back, Ferrari James got back on a winning track in the final trial defeating fellow qualifier Kokko Wagon in :20.303 seconds, into a 36 mph crosswind. Manuel Compos conditions the stakes-placed son of Ivory James for owner Alfredo Botello. Bred in Oklahoma by Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith, Ferrari James has won four of eight starts and earned $65,764. Jose Tapia was aboard the gelding out of Ferarri Fast Prize, by Mr Jess Perry.
