PATRIOT PEARL QUALIFIES TO THE GRADE 3 $235,600 DASH FOR CASH DERBY

© Dusitn Orona PhotographyGRAND PRAIRIE, TX—SEPTEMBER 23, 2016-The field is set for the 19th edition of the Grade 3, $235,600 Dash for Cash Derby to be held Saturday, October 8 at 440 yards. The top 10 horses that posted the fastest times from tonight's trials will advance to the final.
Bobby Simmons Patriot Pearl used a strong finish to win the second trial and qualify to the top ten with a time of :21.827. Ricky Ramirez rode the stakes-placed son of Game Patriot for trainer Trey Wood.
Weetona Stanley bred Patriot Pearl in Oklahoma from the Mr Jess Perry mare First Prize Pearl. He has compiled a (12) 2-3-1 record and earned $29,800. The bay gelding was third in the Texas Classic Juvenile last year at Lone Star Park.
There was at least one qualifier from all but the seventh race tonight. The eighth produced the most with three.
