Photo Credit: Dustin Orona PhotographyOKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 8, 2008—First year sire FLY JESS FLY got off to outstanding start to his sire career on Saturday evening in Oklahoma City when two of his offspring posted won their trials and posted the fastest two time s to the $254,000 Oklahoma Futurity(G2). The ten fastest qualifiers will return on March 22 to contest the 300 yards contest at Remington Park. It was all Ladybug Stallion Station when two home-breds by FLY JESS FLY out of Ladybug bred mares won the first and ninth heats. Ninety-three two-year-olds were making their first career start in the ten trials. Owned by Dash Stanley and bred by Weetona Stanley, Wanna Fly Jess covered 300 yards in a swift :15.679 clocking to earn a 92 speed index. Out of the Heza Fast Man mare Wanna Be Fast, the filly won by 1-3/4 lengths to post the fastest clocking. The night started off quickly when Fly Jess Who, owned and bred by Fred Stanley, won the first trial heat by ¾ of a length in :15.749. That time stood as the fastest clocking until the ninth trial and was the second fastest of the night. The FLY JESS FLY filly is out Feefifowho, by By Who. Rodney Reed saddled both fillies with champion G.R. Carter, Jr. aboard. This is the first graded futurity in history that a son and a father have owned the fastest two qualifiers. FLY JESS FLY is a grade 1 stakes placed son of champion and leading sire Mr Jess Perry. This is his first crop to race. He stands at Oklahoma Stud in Purcell, Oklahoma.
