Dustin Orona PhotographyOKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 15, 2008—Weetona Stanley and William E. Smith's Fast Prize Corona broke her maiden at first asking in easy fashion Saturday night at Remington Park. Sired by AQHA's 2007 Leading Sire of Money Earners Corona Cartel, the bay filly ridden by champion jockey G.R. Carter, Jr. She led wire-to-wire in an $18,500 Two-Year-Old Maiden event while going :13.307 for the 250 yards. The time was good enough to earn her a 100 speed index with no wind recorded. She picked up $10,570 for the effort. Fast Prize Corona is the second foal out of Lady Bug Stallion Station's Heritage Place Futurity winner Fast First Prize, by Heza Fast Man. Also a finalist in the Texas Classic Futurity(G1), Fast First Prize earned $244,929. Her only starter, Fast Prize Doll by Mr Jess Perry, won two races at 2, 2007, earning more than $80,000. She finished third in the Harrah's Entertainment Futurity(G2) and was finalist in the Remington park Futurity (G1). Trained by Rodney Reed, Fast Prize Corona is being pointed next to the either the Remington Futurity(G1) or the Heritage Place Futurity(G1). |
