The three-year-olds with the 10-fastest times from the trials qualified for the All American Derby on September 2. The horses with the next 10-fastest times gain preference to the $100,000 First Down Dash on the same day. Grade 3 Heritage Place Derby winner Pyc Fun N Fancy defeated the like of Grade 1 Ruidoso Futurity winner Uptown Dynasty in the 6th trial on Sunday to post the 10th fastest qualifying time of :21.533 seconds. James Flores had the riding call aboard the Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt for owners Jose Guzman and Rita Sosa. Pyc Fun N Fancy has compiled an (11) 5-3-1 record and banked $447,694. His other accomplishments include winning the Laico Bird Sakes, and finishing second in the Oklahoma Futurity(G3) and third in the Heritage Place Futurity(G1). Multiple stakes-placed Fast Prize Rumor post a half-length win in the fourth of 10 trials to get the 6th fastest time for the 2018 $1.23 Million All American Derby. Under jockey James Flores, the son of Heza Our Secret from the Corona Cartel mare Coronas Fast Prize clocked the 440 yards in :21453 seconds. Also Ponce conditions the gray gelding for owner Jose Ernesto Guzman. Second in the Will Rogers Juvenile Challenge and third in the Oklahoma Juvenile Challenge and a finalist in the Heritage Place Derby(G3), Fast Prize Rumor has compiled a (11) 4-2-3 record and banked $67,078.
