MY FAST PRIZE SECOND FASTEST ON FIRST DAY OF ALL AMERICAN FUTURITY TRIALS Date Posted: 8/17/2019 12:46:48 PM Alan Hernandez-ridden My Fast Prize was clocked in :21.736 to get the second fastest time on day 1 of the All American trials at Ruidoso Downs. © Jake Rogers / Ruidoso DownsRUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—AUGUST 16, 2019—Weetona Stanley bred My Fast Prize posted the second fastest-qualifying time on the first of two-days of trials to the Grade 1, $3-million All American Futurity on Friday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs.
There were 13 440-yard trials on Friday afternoon and another 13 440-yard trials will be contested on Saturday afternoon. The horses with the five-fastest times on each day qualify to race in the 440-yard All American Futurity on Labor Day. The All American Futurity winner earns $1.5 million. Mister Riptide, the 3-10 favorite, raced from the inside post position while TYKHE Racing, LLC's My Fast Prize started from the second post position. The Ricky Ramirez-ridden Mister Riptide prevailed in their duel and the two horses established the top-two qualifying marks. Mister Riptide, from the J.J. Gonzales stable, was timed in :21.681 while the Alan Hernandez-ridden My Fast Prize was clocked in :21.736. My Fast Prize is still winless from four starts, however showed he can compete at the highest level with his game second-place effort behind Mister Riptide. The Wes Giles-trained gelding by Mr Jess Perry was second in his trial to the Grade 1, $1-million Rainbow Futurity in his previous start. Weetona Stanley bred the $69,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate from Coronas Fast Prize. The daughter of Corona Cartel also produced Fast Prize Rumor who was qualifier to the 2018 $1.2 million All American Derby(G1) at Ruidoso Downs. Coronas Fast Prize was the fastest qualifier to the 2010 Grade 1 Remington Park Futurity and won four of nine starts while earning $45,752.
