FIRST LUCY LARK FASTEST TRAINING WINNER AT REMINGTON PARK WEDNESDAY

© Dustin Orona PhotographyOKLAHOMA CITY, OK—FEBRUARY 12, 2020—First Luck Lark, a 2-year-old daughter of last year's #3 Leading Second-Crop Sire Im A Fancy Pyc posted the fastest time from 77 2-year-olds who participated in schooling races at Remington Park.
Remington Park conducted 10 training races Wednesday, in misty conditions with temperatures in the high 30s over a sloppy track.
Trainer Rex Brooks also had a big day, scoring with two horses – Ferrari B (13.606 seconds for a 76 speed index at 250 yards) in the second training race and First Lucy Lark in the eighth.
First Lucy Lark, a daughter of third-crop sire Im A Fancy Pyc, had the fastest time of the day, stopping the timer in 13.529 seconds for a speed index of 79. First Lucy Lark is a full sister to stakes-winning Jay Number 7. She is owned by Dustin Cox, who also has Jay Number 7. Jockey Jose Vega had the ride.
Im A Fancy Pyc, stakes wining son of Pyc Paint Your Wagon from the Mr Jess Perry mare First Prize Fancy was bred by Weetona Stanley .
Another Weetona Stanley, the aforementioned Ferarri B finished with the third fastest time on Wednesday. The son of Freighttrain B from the Mr Jess Perry mare Ferarri Fast Prize was purchased by Guadalupe Calderon for $25,000 at the September Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City.
