JC Wild King was sharp, straight and speedy under champion jockey James Flores to stop the clock in :17.718 seconds, earning a 95 speed index for 350 yard into a 6 mph headwind. It was the third career win in nine starts for 3-year-old son of leading sire Apollitical Jess. Racing for owner-breeder Jose Cervantes, JC Wild King is trained by Fidencio L. Jimenez. Bred in Oklahoma, JC Wild King is out. Cervantes' multiple stakes-producing Stoli mare Oh Cherokee Rose. A graded stakes-placed runner herself, Oh Cherokee Rose finished third in the 2007 Remington Park Futurity(G1) for Cervantes. JC Wild King picked up $29,986 for the win to boost his earnings mark to $79,335. Last year he won the Will Rogers Downs Juvenile Challenge and was second in the Grade 2 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship at Albuquerque. Bp Primetime put in a strong bid under jockey Jose Meza but had to settle for second-place earning $12,072. Buddy Clay saddled the son of third-crop stakes sire Im A Fancy Pyc for owner H E Racing, LLC. Bill Price bred the gelding in Oklahoma from BP Southern Mariah by Southern Cartel. The $72,205 earner was making his first stakes appearance. Spotty Politics, a son of leading third-crop sire Apollitical Blood was neck back in third to earn $7,812. Owner-trainer Matthew Eck named Daniel Torres to ride the Oklahoma-bred gelding from the Favorite Cartel mare Sunspot Babie. A finalist in the Speedhorse QH Futurity(G3) last year and the Heritage Place Derby(G20 in May, Spotty Politics has earned $60,127. Andy Knight is the breeder. Coyotee Dale, Political Babbel, Mh Apollitical Spy, Willie McBride and Cindydoesitagain completed the field. Cashmere And Beer was scratched. |
