FIRST PRIZE PARIS BREAKS MAIDEN IN FIRST START Date Posted: 3/21/2008 10:38:01 AM OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 21, 2008—Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith's First Prize Paris made her debut a winning one Thursday evening in a 250 yard '2-year-Old Maiden' event at Remington Park. The daughter of Mr Jess Perry, out Lady Bug Stallion Station's broodmare of the year First Prize Dash, by Dash For Cash, covered the 250 yards in :13.731 into a strong head wind to win by ˝ length at the Oklahoma City track. Bred by Weetona Stanley, First Prize Paris is a full-sister to grade 1 winners First Carolina, winner of the Heritage Place Futurity(G1) and Remington Park Derby(G2); First Prize Robin, winner of the Remington Park Futurity(G1); and First Prize Perry, runner-up in the Texas Classic Futurity(G1). Trained by Rodney Reed and ridden by Stormy Smith, First Prize Paris is being pointed to the either the Remington Park Futurity(G1) or Heritage Place Futurity(G1) trials later this spring at Remington Park. In other racing news Thursday at Remington Park, Stolia Del Rey won a $17,000 350 yard allowance race. Racing for Ray Moore, the Stoli-Disco Del Rey, by Disco Jerry-TB 3-year-old filly was bred by Fred Stanley. Disco Del Rey, a stakes-placed winner of more than $110,000, is one of the Lady Bug Stallion Station's foundation mares. A finalist in the 1992 All American Futurity(G1), she is the dam of 8 ROM including stakes winner Dash Del Rey, Fast Del Rey and stakes-placed Runaway Del Rey. |
