The Weetona Stanley bred son of leading sire One Famous Eagle finished a neck off the winner and 2-3/4 lengths ahead of the Pretty Lie who was third. A Famous Ribbon won the AQHA Grants Pass Championship Challenge last year. The stakes winner in three different states is out of Fast Prize Ribbon by Corona Cartel. The 5-year-old earned $14,235 to boost his lifetime earnings record to $128,202. Juan Diaz Jr. trains the Texas-bred gelding for owner Adrian Aleman. Manuel Gutierrez was riding. The impressive thing about A Famous Ribbon's effort is A Tres Of Eagle has won three of last five starts including the AQHA Challenge Championship(G1), Arapahoe Park Challenge Championship and was third in the Champion of Champions(G1). A Famous Ribbon was also making his first start back going 440 yards after a lengthly layoff. Running time for the winner was :21.411 seconds over the fast track for a speed-index of 105. A Famous Ribbon recorded a 103. This race also included the 2022 All American Futurity winner, Hes Judgeandjury, but he never was a factor as he was shaking his head when the gate opened. He ran sixth in the field of seven at lukewarm odds of 5-1. That’s how tough this field was. The rest of the field was Big Caney (22-1) in fourth, Jess the Leader (7-1) fifth, Hesjudgeandjury (5-1) sixth and Im No Lawyer Butt (7-2) seventh. Return Home View all news |
