Photo Credit: Dustin Orona PhotographyOKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 4, 2008—Oh Cherokee Rose SI 105 returned to racing Friday night, after a eight month lay-off, to post the seventh fastest time for the $194,000 Remington Park Derby. The grade 1 stakes-placed 3-year-old Stoli filly racing for Jose Cevantes underwent surgery following a two-year-old season that saw here win 3 of five starts and earn $66,214. She was third in the Remington Park Futurity(G1) on April 22, 2007. Luis Villafranco handles the fillies training with veteran rider Roy Brooks on board. Oh Cherokee Rose SI 106 was bred by Ladybug Stallion Station's Weetona Stanley from the Dash For Perks mare, Oh What A Perks. Oh What A Perks was an undefeated winner of two races from two starts at 2 and is the dam of two stakes horses from two starters. She has also produced stakes-placed Oh What A Prize SI 102 who finished third in the Michigan Derby last season. Oh What A Perks is a half-sister to the dam of stakes winner Fast First Dash, stakes-placed First Black Rose and Dash Fast Girl (the dam of Kindergarten Futurity(G1) winner Vachetta). 2006 AQHA Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash is the great-grandam of Oh Cherokee Rose.
