FAST PRIZE ZOOM IS QUARTER HORSE OF MEET AT SUNLAND
SUNLAND PARK, NM—APRIL 23, 2008—World-record holder Fast Prize Zoom was named American Quarter Horse of the meet at Sunland Park, which ended its 2007-08 season on Tuesday.
Campaigned by Weetona Stanley and William E. Smith, Fast Prize Zoom won two races during the Sunland meet, including the $300,958 West Texas Futurity (G1) on April 20.
The Lady Bug Stallion Station homebred Shazoom filly broke American Quarter Horse racing’s 300-yard world record when she won her April 4 trial in :14.870, then bettered that mark when she captured the final in :14.678.
Fast Prize Zoom was also named Sunland’s top 2-year-old filly.
