FIRST PRIZE DASH PRODUCES THREE
FINALIST TO SPEEDHORSE FUTURITY

Date Posted: 7/11/2008 12:26:37 PM

TULSA, OK—JULY 10, 2008—Former American Quarter Horse Racing's Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash became the first broodmare in history to produce three finalist to the same grade 1 race on Thursday night, when three of her offspring qualified to the $423,378 Speedhorse Gold & Silver Cup Futurity(RG1) at Fair Meadows.

Lady Bug Stallion Station's Weetona Stanley bred First Prize Timber, First Prize Paris and First Prize Corona, the second, third and ninth fastest qualifiers.

First Prize Timber broke his maiden in the first trial by stopping the timer in:17.757 seconds for W.E. Smith and L. Schewinski to be the second fastest qualifier. The Oak Tree Special--First Prize Dash colt was making his third start. In his previous outing at Remington Park he finished second by head to Chilled Wine who qualified to the grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity in that race.

Smith and Stanley own the third fastest qualifier, First Prize Paris a daughter of Mr Jess Perry out of First Prize Dash. The sorrel filly was winning for the second time in three starts. She is a full sister to Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner First Carolina and Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner First Prize Robin.

First Prize Corona, a Corona Cartel filly out of First Prize Dash, finished second by a nose in the fourth trial. Also owned by Stanley and Smith, she was saddled by Luis Villafranco and ridden by champion jockey G.R. Carter, Jr. The bay filly has a 1-2-1 record from four career starts.

First Prize Dash, a full sister to All-Time Leading Sire First Down Dash has produced 11 ROM including three grade 1 winners. Her stakes winners include the aforementioned First Carolina; First Prize Robin; Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner Fast First Prize; Blue Ribbon Futurity(G2) winner Heza Fast Dash; and Texas Classic Futurity(G1) runner-up First Prize Perry.

First Prize Dash is also the grand-dam of 300 yard world-record holder Fast Prize Zoom who set the fastest qualifying time last week to the $625,000 Rainbow Futurity(G1).
