RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—AUGUST 9, 2008—World-record holder Fast Prize Zoom is expected to start Thursday in the trials to the Grade 1, $2 million All American Futurity on Labor Day, closing day of the summer racing season at Ruidoso Downs.

The two-year-olds with the 10-fastest qualifying times from today’s 440-yard trials become eligible to race in the 50th running of quarter horse racing’s showcase event. A special gold trophy will be awarded to the winner of this year’s 50th All American Futurity.

A recent addition to the Heath Taylor barn, the brilliant Shazoom filly has been well managed throughout her four career starts. She set 300-yard world records in her first two starts, including the Grade 1 West Texas Futurity.

Her owners, Weetona Stanley and William Smith, passed Ruidoso Futurity and she then set the fastest-qualifying time to the Rainbow Futurity before finishing fourth in the finals.

Regular rider G.R. Carter, Jr. rides Fast Prize Zoom with the eighth post position in the 12th trial.

Bred in Oklahoma at Lady Bug Stallion Station, the filly is out of the 2002 Heritage Place Futurity winner(G1), Fast First Prize. The Heza Fast Man mare is a full sister Heza Fast Dash who is among the leading third year sires in the nation.

From five starters she has produced three winners including the World Record Holder and Grade 1 winner Fast Prize Zoom who is now earned $152,120 and is undefeated from two starts and Fast Prize Doll, an earner of $81,427 at 2 last season, finishing third in the Harrah's Entertainment Futurity and qualifying to the Remington Park Futurity(G1). Her other winner is a Corona Cartel filly, Fast Prize Corona, who won her debut at Remington Park on March 15 while recording a 100 speed index.

A half-sister, Fast Prize Rose, by leading sire Mr Jess Perry will be offered as lot #140 at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale on August 29 at Ruidoso Downs.
