RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—AUGUST 31, 2008—First Prize Stanley, a son of Mr Jess Perry, brought $675,000 in the final session Sunday night, topping the Ruidoso Horse Sale Company's annual three-day Select Yearling Sale at Ruidoso Downs.

Chad Hart, a Georgia resident who owns Hart Farms in Kaplan, Louisiana, purchased the sorrel colt from 6666 Ranch, Agent. Weetona Stanley of Madill, Oklahoma bred First Prize Stanley from her former Broodmare of the Year, First Prize Dash.

The 457 yearlings sold during the Ruidoso Horse Sale auction grossed $19,593,900. Their average price was $44,467. The buy-back rate was 23.6%.

Weetona Stanley was the second leading consignor and sold three yearlings for $925,000, an average of $200,000 per head.

She also sold two fillies out of grade 1 winner and grade 1 producer Fast First Prize.

Rigo Flores purchased Fast Prize Rose, a Mr Jess Perry full-sister to Fast Prize Doll (G2-SP, $81,427 at 2, 2007) for $2000,000 on the first night. James Pruitt purchased Fast Prize Angie, an Oak Tree Special for $50,000.
