FIRST PRIZE BOSTON WINS SCHOOLING RACE AT REMINGTON Date Posted: 2/18/2009 6:30:33 PM OKAHOMA CITY, OK—FEBRUARY 18, 2009— First Prize Boston, a full-brother to grade 1 winners First Carolina and First Prize Robin and grade 1 stakes-placed First Prize Perry, clocked the fourth fastest time from 76 two-year-olds who competed in training races on Wednesday at Remington Park in Oklahoma City. Owned by Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith, First Prize Boston is trained by Heath Taylor and was ridden by champion jockey G.R. Carter, Jr. He won the fifth race in :13.76 seconds. The son of Mr Jess Perry is also a full brother to last summer's high-seller at Ruidoso, First Prize Stanley, who brought $675,000. He is out of Lady Bug Stallion Station's former Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash, a full-sister to All-Time Leading Quarter Horse Sire First Down Dash. She is the dam of 14 winners, four stakes winners and four stakes-placed runners. Second year sire Fly Jess Fly, owned by Fred Stanley and Jeff Jones had two two-year-olds start in Wednesday races. Fly Vince Fly finished second in the first race with a :13.84 clocking and Spank Me Hard, a paint filly by Fly Jess Fly, won the second race. |
