HEZA FAST DASH SIRES SIX TRIAL WINNERS IN $242,222 RG2 MARDI GRAS FURUTIY Date Posted: 2/27/2009 10:51:27 AM Photo courtesy: Robicheaux Ranch Inc.BOSSIER, CITY, LA—FEBRUARY 24, 2009—Lady Bug Stallion Station bred Heza Fast Dash had quite a day when six of his offspring won trials to the $242,222 Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) at Louisiana Downs on Tuesday afternoon. One-hundred and sixteen head of two-year-olds competed in 12 trial races with the 12 fastest qualifiers returning on March 17th to contest the first official futurity of 2009. Fourth year sire Heza Fast Dash sired three finalists as well as the 13th and 14th fastest clockings on the day. Leading the charge for the grade 2 winner and the multiple restricted grade 1 stakes sire, was Jorge Meraz's Sheza Fast Rona. The filly trained by Frank Cavazos and ridden by J.R. Ramirez won the 11th heat by 2-1/4 lengths in :15.881 seconds, good enough for the second best time. Heza Skipin Fast took the eighth trial by ½ length and Lenas Fast Dash won the fifth trial by ¾ lengths to post the fifth and ninth fastest times respectively for their sire, Heza Fast Dash. Heza Fast Dash is a full brother to Lady Bug Stallion Station's blue hen producer Fast First Prize, who won the 2002 Heritage Place Futurity(G1). She is the dam of 2008 West Texas Futurity(G1) winner and 300 yard world record holder Fast Prize Zoom($190,475), stakes-placed Fast Prize Doll an earner of more than $80,000 and Fast Prize Rose who brought $200,000 in the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale last summer. On race track Heza Fast Dash earned more than $136,000 while winning the Blue Ribbon Futurity(G2) and finishing second in the Remington Park Futurity(G1).
