FLY JESS FLY SIRES OKLAHOMA FUTURITY FINALIST Date Posted: 3/8/2009 3:06:53 AM OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 8, 2009—With just his second crop making their racing debut on Saturday night, Fly Jess Fly sired Jess Wanna Fly who posted the fifth fastest qualifying time from 129 starters to the $375,000 Oklahoma Futurity(G3).
Racing for breeder Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith, Jess Wanna Fly is trained by Heath Taylor and ridden by eight-time champion jockey G.R. Carter, Jr. Fly Jess Fly also sired the Fly Del Rey who won the sixth trial for owner/breeder Fred Stanley and W.E. Smith. Stanley and Jeff Jones own Fly Jess Fly and stand the son of Mr Jess Perry at Oklahoma Stud near Purcell, Oklahoma. From a limited number of starter last season he sired two stakes horses including Wanna Fly Jessie, a grade 3 stakes-placed earner of over $45,000 and Fly Like Me, second in the Black Gold 350 Futurity.
