Photo Credit: Dustin Orona PhotographyOKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 5, 2009—Two fillies bred at LadyBug Stallion Station were among the top four qualifiers on Saturday night as 11 qualifying trials were held for to determine the field for the $683,600 Remington Park Futurity. Cr Sugar N Spice, a filly by second year sire Fly Jess Fly finished a nose off fastest qualifier Dynaglide to post the second fastest time of the night. Saddled by Stacey Cappps for William E. Smith she stopped the clock at :16.731. Smith purchased the gray filly from breeder Weetona Stanley at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale for $26,000. Mrs. Stanley also bred the fourth fastest qualifier First Prize Leesa who won the final trial by 1-3/4 lengths in :16.755. A Mr Jess Perry full sister to Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner First Prize Robin and Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner First Carolina, the filly races in the name of Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith (Lessee). Heath Taylor saddled the filly ridden by G.R. Carter, Jr. She is out of the Ladybug Stallion Station foundation mare and former Broodmare of the Year, First Prize Dash. The sorrel miss was making her career debut in the Remington Park trials and is also a full sister to the $675,000 2008 Ruidoso Select Yearling High-Seller, First Prize Stanley.
