Photo courtesy: Ruidoso Select Yearling SaleOKALHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 8, 2009—First Prize Stanley, the high-selling yearling last summer at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale who commanded a final bid of $675,000 recorded the fastest time from eight schooling races held at Remington Park on Wednesday.
Owned by Chad Hart and trained by Heath Taylor, the Mr Jess Perry colt out of former Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash covered the 250 yards in :13.49 seconds. Ridden by champion jockey G.R. Carter, Jr., First Prize Stanley is entered in both the Rainbow and All American Futurities later this summer at Ruidoso Downs. He is a full brother to Heritage Place Futurity(G1) winner First Carolina, Remington Park Futurity(G1) winner First Prize Robin and Texas Classic Futurity(G1) runner-up First Prize Perry. Another full-sister, First Prize Leesa, posted the fourth fastest qualifying time on Saturday night to the $683,600 Remington Park Futurity(G1), and another two-year-old ¾ sister, First Prize Diamond, broke her maiden at first asking by 3/4 lengths on Sunday night at Remington Park. Another member of that female line, Fast Prize Tracy, won her schooling race in :13.66 to record the fourth best clocking from the eight races Wednesday. The Shazoom filly is a full-sister to last season's West Texas Futurity(G1) winner Fast Prize Zoom, who holds the 300 yard world record. Both fillies are out of the Heza Fast Man mare Fast First Prize who is a grade 1 winner of the Heritage Place Futurity and a half-sister to all the runners in the aforementioned paragraph. Racing for Weetona Stanley who bred all of these runners at the Ladybug Stallion Station in Madill, Oklahoma, Fast Prize Tracy is also trained by Taylor. Fast Prize Zoom is co-owned by Mrs. Stanley and W.E. Smith and is expected to make her three-year-old debut next month in the Heritage Place Derby(G1) trials at Remington Park. |
