Photo by Morgan Abshire/ Coady PhotographyVINTON, LA—APRIL 16, 2009—Mcm Sheza Fast Cutie pulled off a ¾ length win in :16.790 seconds to post the fastest qualifying time to the $250,600 Lassies Futurity on opening night Thursday at Delta Downs.
The ten qualifiers will return on the Vinton oval to contest the restricted grade 2 final on May 2. Eighty-three Louisiana-bred fillies started in the 10 trial heats. Racing for owner/breeder McM Farms, LLC, the Heza Fast Dash filly came in to the ninth trial race off a March 30th bullet work at Delta Downs. Trained by Bobby Martinez the brown miss was ridden by Raul Ramirez. Heza Fast Dash is a full brother to Lady Bug Stallion Station's blue hen producer Fast First Prize, who won the 2002 Heritage Place Futurity(G1). She is the dam of 2008 West Texas Futurity(G1) winner and 300 yard world record holder Fast Prize Zoom ($190,475), stakes-placed Fast Prize Doll an earner of more than $80,000 and Fast Prize Rose who brought $200,000 in the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale last summer. On race track Heza Fast Dash earned more than $136,000 while winning the Blue Ribbon Futurity(G2) and finishing second in the Remington Park Futurity(G1). He has sired earners of more than $3 million with average earnings per starter of $30,354. Heza Fast Dash stands at Robicheaux Ranch Inc. near Breaux Bridge, LA.
